About

I started this blog for my communications practicum on new media strategies, but I hope to provide some actually useful and interesting information rather than just meet the class requirements. I’ll be posting about technology news, online marketing, and web development primarily. If you have specific things (related or not) that you’d like to read about, please let me know. In the meantime, I’ll post things that are interesting to me or are relevant to my learning.

Work

Since April 2009, I’ve worked at Corda Technologies part-time as a product manager in the marketing department. Prior to that I was a software engineer at Corda for over a year.

I’ve also had a number of other part-time jobs doing things from web development and help desk work, to answering phones and teaching swimming lessons. For details, see my resume.

School

I’m an undergraduate student at BYU-Idaho studying computer information technology. User interface/experience design has also become one of my greatest interests over the last couple years. I anticipate graduating in July 2010.

Personal

A lot of my time is spent reading technology-related news—mostly about Internet technologies in general, and about Apple and Google. I used to play a lot of video games, and I still follow the news from the gaming industry, even though it hasn’t been a priority since I’ve been married and especially since our daughter was born. I love to play tennis during the few months that it’s warm in Rexburg, ID.
